The staff of Clane Hospital welcome you and in order to
make your stay as comfortable
as possible ask you to note the following:
Directions to the hospital- HERE
Although our consultants will endeavour to make your day case stay at the hospital as short as possible, there are occasions when you may be in the hospital for the entire day. We ask that ALL patients are prepared to spend the day at the hospital. Our staff will keep you well informed.
If you have been an inpatient in another hospital during the previous three months, you are required to have two swabs taken - a nasal and a groin for MRSA testing. This can be done by your GP or Health Centre. Alternatively, the Hospital also provide this service at a cost of €60 and must be carried out at least four days prior to your admission to the Hospital.
⇒ All patients scheduled for day care procedures must have nothing to eat or drink (including water) from midnight of the previous day.
⇒ Please check with your consultant if you may take prescribed medication on the day of your procedure.
⇒ Please arrive at the time indicated on your appointment letter, which should be brought with you to the hospital.
⇒ Bring details of your health insurance cover and any medication you are taking.
⇒ Bring night attire and slippers.
⇒ Remove all jewellery, make-up and contact lenses if applicable.
Minors or those under 18 may be accompanied by an adult.
All patients having a day care procedure should not drive or drink alcohol for the first 24 hours after your procedure. We would ask that a responsible adult accompany you home after your procedure.
Please note that we ask you to leave your valuables at home as Clane Hospital cannot be held responsible for loss or damage to personal possessions while you are in the Hospital.
